About Nick Moore
Nick Moore is an artist from The Potteries in the United Kingdom.
Born in Newcastle-under-Lyme in 1968, Nick has fond memories of being surrounded and amazed by his father's paintings and sketches and their continual stylistic evolution.
Stoke-on-Trent, otherwise known as The Potteries, was a fascinating place to grow-up . The Pottery Industry gave way to clay-soft rural countryside at the town borders; from Bottle Kiln to bucolic landscape. That abrupt transition can be seen in the artists paintings, swapping freely from portraits of local characters to lush landscapes and expressions of the abstract captured mostly in oils.
Having studied printing and graphics at South Manchester College, Nick spent over 30 years as a printer and graphic designer. In 2017 he attended life drawing classes whilst visiting his father, respected Penwith Society artist, David Moore, in St Ives. With his father's guidance and critique Nick greedily painted without restraint of formal creative schooling. He immersed himself in art with a focus on contemporary artists, attending many exhibitions and private collections regionally and abroad.
Currently inspired by regional artists and the abstract, he searches for ever-economical mark making which tells all of the story.

Nick Moore has been recognised for his exceptional work in the art world. being Highly Commended in the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Friends Exhibition 2022.
Nick spoke about his artistic influence and background as a guest speaker at Lunar Wedgwood Art and Wine evening, Barlaston, Staffordshire in 2023.
